If you’re getting ready to design an outdoor kitchen, you may feel a little bit overwhelmed. If you aren’t entirely sure where to start, there are four main things we think all outdoor kitchens should include:
- A Food Preparation Area- The purpose of outdoor kitchens is to eliminate running back and forth to grab ingredients from the kitchen inside. For this reason, it’s critical that you have a place to prepare your food. This space doesn’t have to be huge, but it should give you enough room to chop vegetables, marinate meat, or perform any other task you need to get done.
- A Lounge Area- Outdoor kitchens extend your outdoor living space. When you’re designing your kitchen, make sure you include a small area to put a table, or at least a few patio chairs.
- A Grill- Without a grill, your outdoor kitchen won’t do you much good. When you’re choosing which grill to buy for your new kitchen, don’t feel like you have to purchase the fanciest one available. Instead, go with one that you will be comfortable using and one that you know will meet your cooking needs.
- A Sink- Would you rather avoid taking all of your dirty dishes back in the house after you’re done eating? Would you like to rinse off your hands, wash off vegetables, and take care of other tasks easily without running back into the house? To help you get the most out of your new kitchen, make sure you include a sink in your design plans.
